Notes about the Services

Both the 8:00 and 10:15 a.m. Sunday services incorporate the Rite II celebration of the Holy Eucharist.

8:00 a.m. Service

The "early" service is abbreviated in that congregational singing is limited to the processional and recessional. The choir is not present (except on Easter Sunday, when it participates in both services). This service usually last from 50 to 60 minutes. Coffee and refreshments are served in the parish hall immediately following the service.

Education Hour

Between the 8:00 a.m. and 10:15 services an education hour is held featuring classes for adults and children.

10:15 a.m. Service

This is the traditional Episcopalian worship service celebrated in contemporary English (Rite II) including full choir participation and occasionally featuring special presentations by cantors, soloists, instrumentalists, and the children's choir. The psalm is usually sung during the 10:15 service, with the congregation joining in singing the Antiphon. Service time ranges from 60 to 75 minutes. Coffee and refreshments are served in the parish hall immediately following the service.

Nursery Care

Nursery care is available for infants and toddlers on Sundays from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. The nurseries are located to the right off the narthex.

Participating in the Holy Eucharist

All baptized Christians, including children, are invited to participate in the Holy Eucharist and are welcome at the Lord's Table. Come forward toward the altar with the other congregants. The minister will lay a piece of bread onto your palm. Next, the chalice bearer will offer each person the wine. If you prefer not to share the common cup, leave the bread in your palm, and the chalice bearer will pick it up, dip it in the wine, and place it on your tongue (a process called intinction). If you want to participate but don't wish to receive the bread and the wine, come forward at the time of Communion and cross your arms over your chest to indicate you wish to receive a blessing only. Please return to your seat by a side aisle.

Wednesdays

Wednesday evening worship begins at 6:30 pm with singing, silence and Holy Eucharist.  Dinner is served in St. Christopher’s Hall immediately following worship.  Cost for dinner is $5 per person or $15 per family.  A number of groups meet after dinner, including Adult Choir, Youth Group and Kerygma Bible Study.

Children's Worship

Children’s Chapel now meets in the Church every Sunday from 9:00 to 9:15.  The Chapel Band will lead singing for young children for 15 minutes before Church School starts.  Action songs and movement make singing fun. Come join us!
