Parish Work Day in the Gardens
Please mark your calendars for October 20th (Saturday) 8am-12am for our bi annual parish work day in the gardens. Many different skill levels, no talents turned down. Children and teenagers welcome!! Come for an hour or the whole morning. Come bond with your fellow parishioners in our gardens.
One session remains in this FREE series to help answer your questions about diabetes care, diet and monitoring.
Your Parish Nurses are hosting an educational series titled, “Troubleshooting Diabetes!” The program is in partnership with BayCare Health System and the educational staff from St. Joseph’s Diabetes Center. Each week will focus on a different aspect, and will allow you to ask questions regarding “your diabetes” management:
Week 3: October 23rd 6-7pm: Troubleshooting Your Care
Diabetics and/or their caregivers are invited. The program is designed for diabetics, yet individuals with a diagnosis of ‘pre-diabetes’ are also invited. The program will be held in from 6:00 – 7: 00 p.m. Light refreshments will be served. There is plenty of room, no registration required!
Book Club - October 23rd
The Book Club will meet Tuesday, October 23rd at 11:00 am. For the October discussion they will continue with the Great American Read and the 100 most popular books. Everyone is welcome to join them for their informal book discussions on the fourth Tuesday of every month in the library at St. Mark's. If you have questions, please call Kathy Gibbons at 792-9864.
Men's Dinner - October 25th
This month's Men's Dinner will be Thursday, October 25th. This pre-Halloween date does not require silly costumes or anything scary 😱. Just show up for a pleasant evening of food, fellowship and prayer. Dinner starts at 6:30pm, but there are usually folks mingling as early as 6:00pm.
Monday Morning Bible Study
Mondays, 10:00 am: The Monday Bible Class returned on Monday, August 20th. We began this study last year but its thematic nature lends itself to joining at any time. We will begin Theme 4 of ten themes so there is much ahead for us! "The Bible in Depth" is a study for anyone ready to explore the Bible and to reflect deeply on the meaning of Scripture for faith and life. For each of ten themes, we will follow stories and events through the Old Testament and into the New Testament including: God's saving acts; Promise and Covenant; God - the knowable and unknowable; How the Scriptures view the world; leadership; The Kingdom of God; The Law and Righteousness; Wisdom; Worship; Hope. Thursday Evening Bible Study
Thursdays, 7:30 pm: Get a head start on your Sunday liturgy with the Thursday Night Bible Study, meeting at St. Mark's Thursday nights at 7:30! Join us for a light and fun discussion of the Lord's message that helps prepare you for the weekend ahead!
