Daughters of the King
St. Mark’s Chapter members of The Order of the Daughters of the King will hold its monthly meeting on Saturday, Feb. 8. The meeting will begin with Morning Prayer at 9 a.m. and will end promptly at 11 a.m.
After Morning Prayer, there will be a short business meeting followed by a study using the curriculum and a study guide, “The Way of Love” series presented by Presiding Bishop Michael Curry. This month’s topic is Worship. It will begin with the podcast of a lecture by The Most Rev. Curry, followed by questions and discussion.
All meetings are open to all women to attend and participate, especially if they are interested in learning more about the Order or are contemplating exploring membership.
To become a Daughter, each person must go through a three-month discernment period, which includes answering written questions and weekly Study Guide sessions led by current members. The Study Guide includes information on the history, practices and guidelines of the Order. At the end of discernment, each participant will have the opportunity to decide if they are called and ready to enter the Order. There is no obligation to join the Order.

Monday Morning Bible Study
We began this study last year but its thematic nature lends itself to joining at any time. "The Bible in Depth" is a study for anyone ready to explore the Bible and to reflect deeply on the meaning of Scripture for faith and life. For each of ten themes, we will follow stories and events through the Old Testament and into the New Testament including: God's saving acts; Promise and Covenant; God - the knowable and unknowable; How the Scriptures view the world; leadership; The Kingdom of God; The Law and Righteousness; Wisdom; Worship; Hope. Class meets on Mondays from 10:00-11:30. Study Guides ($35) are available in the office. Questions? Call Sherre Henley 813-417-5804.
This active group meets for a dinner the fourth Thursday of every month at 6:30 pm in the Parish Hall. They also organize to do a lot of "heavy lifting" type projects around the church, like the parish workdays, pressure washing, and painting.
Come play in the dirt and experience joyful bliss in the gardens! Join St. Mark’s working garden club. Have fun, fellowship and contribute to making St. Mark’s a beautiful and peaceful setting. (Susie Towater 813-963-3774)
Youth Group (ages 14 - 18) will be held on Sundays from 5:00 to 6:30. Please come for food and fellowship with a focus on learning about walking with Jesus! Bring your friends!
