Episcopal Church Women - ECW
The purpose of ECW is to assist the women of the Episcopal Church to carry on Christ’s work of reconciliation, mission, ministry in the community, nation, and the world. ECW is a bridge that helps women take their place in the life, governance and worship of the Church.
If you are a member of the Church, you are considered a member of ECW. No dues, or sponsorship or application required. All women of St Mark’s are welcome at every function and event.

Meetings, Education, Fellowship, Fun
A new tradition at St Mark’s is the ECW Christmas Party and Cookie Exchange. All women of the church are invited. The purpose of the event is fellowship and fun. But members may choose to bring and share cookies.
As they do at every gathering, these party goers ECW are always thinking of others. Members are also encouraged to bring a toy or food donation to the party. |
Outreach
Donations through the Cookie Exchange party are given to local charities. Toys are given to children in foster care through a local Non-Profit organization. Food and other household goods are donated to Metropolitan Ministries.
In the fall of 2018 and 2019 the ECW women assembled “Blessing Bags” to give to homeless or needy persons. These bags included socks, snacks, and personal care items such as toothpaste, comb, soap, etc. Over 200 bags each year have been given out by members of the church.
Fund Raising
A major goal for the ECW has been to raise monies for special needs at St Mark’s. One major fund- raising event is held each year. These events require much planning and participation but are thoroughly anticipated and enjoyed by members of the church.
St. Mark’s is proud of our ECW. These women contribute greatly to the fabric of our congregation. Whether it’s jumping in to coordinate an event, doing well being calls to parishioners after a major storm, or pulling together educational workshops-- our ECW women are always there.
